At Kai's shop, customers request a callback right on the product

Nobody buys a sauna without a conversation. So at Kai's shop "Send request" sits below every buy box, and whoever asks for a callback there gets a call from somebody who already knows the model.

The job

The situation

Kai sells saunas and infrared cabins. Before the purchase it is about dimensions, the power supply and delivery into the basement, and that gets sorted out on the phone. So far only the hotline number was in the shop; whoever browsed in the evening never called.

Where the built-in tools stop

Shopware's contact form has a field for the phone number, but no time window, and it does not know which product page the customer was just on.

This is what the form looks like

  • The product comes along

The form hangs on the dynamic product group of saunas and cabins through a product assignment. The submission carries product number and product name as its context; whoever calls back knows which model it is about before dialling.

  • A time window only when it is needed

"When suits you?" has two values. With "In a time window" the row with day and time window appears, with "As soon as possible" an info message saying until when callbacks happen the same day.

  • The number on a phone

The "Phone number (tel)" field opens the number keypad on a phone. As a mandatory field with "Max. characters" 30 it accepts any notation with area code, spaces and plus sign.

  • Where it sits

Product assignment, position "Below buy box", display mode "Collapsed link": in the buy box, below the add-to-cart button and the product number, sits "Product request" with the "Send request" link, which opens the form in a window above the page. On the contact page the same form sits as a block, there without a product.

The three routes to the page

  • What comes back

Context "product" with number and name, plus phone number, timing and topic as columns of their own. The email to the hotline goes out on submit: form, customer or "Guest", the product, then every entry.

How to set it up

In the "Form" tab the confirmation says the call will come at the chosen time. Under "Email notification" sits the hotline's address, and "Active" is on.

Questions about callback requests

Do I need a plugin for callback requests?

For a time window and the link to the product, yes. Shopware's contact form does have a phone field, but it sits on a page of its own. With the plugin you attach the form to the products where a conversation helps.

How does sales know which product?

From the context: sent from the product page, the submission carries product number and product name. Both appear in the history, in the export and in the email to the hotline.

Who gets the callback request?

The address under "Email notification", one per form. If several people should get it, you enter a shared address that your mail system passes on.

Can the email have a subject of its own?

The email comes from a template of the plugin's own in Shopware's email templates. You change subject and text there, for all forms at once; which form it was is stated in the text.

Does a callback work without a product?

Yes, as a block on the contact page. There the request arrives without a context, and the field "What should we prepare?" says what it is about.

Where do I see all callbacks of a day?

In the history: set the "Form" filter to "Callback request" and "Date" to the day. The list shows context, customer and time; "View details" opens the entries.
